Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician born in Mexico, was born to an affluent family. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, boleros from the past as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana likes tangos as much as opera and various dramatic styles. Ana began learning to sing and play music from an early age, along alongside her mother. She received more formal vocal instruction at the age of 16 old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and then to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In Guadalajara along with Mexico City, she was a member of many opera groups and chamber choirs. When she moved into The United States in 2000, she sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before returning to her new home in the southern part of California. The group she is in currently part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer with traditional Latin American music at private performances. She has been involved in many local activities, both performer and teacher, because of her love for the arts and music. Ana is also a past member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana appreciates having the chance to share her love and passion of classic Latin American songs with others, and in doing so hopes to spread the desire particularly among the younger generation, to help keep this music vibrant and alive.Viva Mexico!
